Makeover and photo shoot in Orange County with model Jhoanne

Last fall I moved back to Orange County from Texas after being away for six years. The weather is so refreshing and the beautiful scenery is endless, which makes me want to be outside all the time! I met recently with model Jhoanne (also from Orange County) to do an outdoor photo shoot right in my corner of Laguna Hills. The natural setting makes for a great backdrop to the photos.

Makeup - Earth Tones

Jhoanne is obviously gorgeous and I can't get enough of her smile!! For her eye makeup, I used some Yaby pearl paints and eyeshadows in green, gold, and warm brown colors to go along with the surrounding earth tones. I applied some extra long lashes to really lift and open the eyes. For her blush and lips I chose fairly natural colors - Rimmel nude lipliner with a little Mac creme cup lipstick in the center, and Mac Melba blush on the cheeks. To create a soft glow on the cheeks, I added Becca's highlighter in Champagne Pop

Andie's Wedding in Hunstville, TX

Bridal Makeup - Red Lips

One of my sweetest clients, Andie, got married in Hunstville this summer. Even though I work primarily out of Houston and Spring, I will frequently travel out of town for weddings! For Andie's makeup I applied a thin layer of Kett Fix creme foundation, which is completely water proof - meaning no tear streaks! For her under eye concealer, I used MAC prolongwear concealer. I love this concealer because holds up well in heat and humidity. On her lips I used one of my favorite red lipsticks from Revlon. Bright lips bring so much color and life to the face, and look absolutely beautiful in photos!

A tip for making your bright colored lip last long, even if you aren't using a long lasting stain, is to fill in your entire lip with a similar colored lip liner then blot with a tissue. Apply the lipstick on top, and even if the lipstick eventually wears off, your lip liner will remain!
